BFBS Creative and Academy recently celebrated success at two recent award ceremonies: the Third Sector Digital Awards and the Videographer Awards.
Third Sector Digital Awards

We won in two categories: Digital Agency of the Year and Best In-House Digital Team. The Third Sector Digital Awards are an exciting new set of awards that reflect the transformational role that digital now plays in the charity and voluntary sector. The awards recognise excellence by celebrating projects that have shown innovation in this space.
At the heart of both these sucesses is our Social Media Spouses programme. The 11- week programme helps military spouses gain social media skills to find flexible roles in the industry, launch freelance social media managing careers, or upscale their already-successful businesses. The course is taught remotely online by military spouses, who understand the unique challenges faced by this community.
More than 1,500 people applied for Social Media Spouses in the first week following its launch. The programme has since trained more than 100 people, with the online community of military spouses and partners growing to 1400 globally. In mid-May, a commercial version of the training programme was launched, to ensure the programme remained sustainable for the military spouses.
"What a great opportunity and idea to help military families."
- Third Sector Digital Awards Judges
"It’s great to have all our hard work recognised with these fantastic awards. The team knows first-hand how tough it can be to find meaningful employment that fits around your life. We feel privileged to help this amazing community and we now offer a commercial version, so the programme can continue!"
- Jackie Rautenbach, BFBS Head of Social Media
Videographer Awards

We won in four categories of the Videographer Awards – an international awards programme that recognises all areas of video production. We also gained two honourable mentions. Out of the 1,500 entries only 15% are recognised, so this is a real achievement.
BFBS Creative was recognised for our work supporting the RAF recruitment, such as the RAF 2620 Sqn Recruitment, as well as our homegrown content, including 48 hours in Somalia.
"I’m so proud of everyone involved with these projects, which are a massive team effort. Creating content involves writing briefs; sorting logistics and producing graphics, as well as filming and editing. These awards really do demonstrate the breadth of our work – everything from content for our audience on our own channels to videos for clients that meet their specific needs."
- Alex Griffiths, Head of Content at BFBS Creative
