Challenge

How do you make cyber security learning something people actually want to engage with?

For MOD Cyber Security, the answer was to take learning beyond traditional guidance and use gamification to make an important, often complex subject more accessible and engaging.

As part of its Cyber Confident programme, Frontliners needed to turn that thinking into a live experience, bringing the energy of a gameshow to Defence audiences in the room and online.

Solution

Commissioned by AtkinsRéalis, we took the Frontliners concept and shaped it into a 40-minute live production, bringing together the creative, content and production expertise needed to make the gameshow work.

We developed the format and supporting content, combining live and pre-recorded elements to create pace, variety and flexibility. Contestants put their cyber security knowledge to the test across a series of rounds, supported by presenters, on-screen content, sound and a purpose-built set.

Our team led the production planning and rehearsals, produced the pre-recorded and promotional films, and prepared presenters and contestants for the live show. Working with specialist production company MELT on the set and technical elements, we coordinated delivery on the day and adapted to last-minute changes to keep the show running smoothly.

Impact

Frontliners turned cyber security learning into an experience designed to capture attention, encourage participation and make the subject more accessible.

AtkinsRéalis reported that the gameshow had a significant impact on the client and helped increase awareness of the Cyber Confident team.
